Tulum Fresh Mexican Grill

When I’m in Jackson and have a chance to eat lunch, I usually start thinking of Sakura. Yesterday,  someone asked if I wanted to go to Tulum. Though there are several restaurants in Jackson I’ve never been to, there are few that I’ve not at least heard of, and this was a new one on me.

It’s understandable that it’s new, because it just opened, with no pomp, on Tuesday. The building it’s in, directly across from Sakura, has been 27 different types of food and I can’t even remember anymore what it was originally. The most recent tenant was some sort of country cooking. The last time I ate there it was Chicago style hot dogs and sandwiches. I hope Tulum will be able to stick around.

Local food-cajun style

One of the things that is important to me that I don’t blog about enough is supporting local business. It’s a big part of my belief in community and faith. That doesn’t mean that I think you should buy from a terrible store if it’s local, but that we owe it to one another to try and support good businesses and entrepreneurs (man that’s a hard word to type) in our area. If supporting local business means eating cajun food, that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.
