Meo Mio’s

meomioI don’t know if you will ever accidentally find yourself in Bath Springs, Tennessee, but if you do, you will probably do a double take when you pass by Meo Mio’s. After all, there really shouldn’t be a restaurant at all in the middle of this sparsely populated restaurant, let alone one with a bar and crawfish tails.

fuzzy fur feet

Dr. Seuss’s Foot Book comes to mind almost every time I put on my new vibram® fivefingers®.  I hesitate to call them shoes, because they’re really not shoes in the traditional sense, as you can see from the picture.

videos about books

My wife and I both have degrees in English. She even got good grades. I passed and also did coursework towards my Masters degree. But when we’re reading, we are far more likely to be reading romance novels (her)  and comic books (me) than any great literary works.  Because many of the books Amy reads are from authors who have websites, sometimes she’ll watch a video promoting a book.

This has always seemed odd to me. (more…)

Deacons/Elders

As many as half of the members of our church, including me,  are not lifelong Methodists. And, even though I have been a member of the church for 27 years, I didn’t know much about it until I attended Lambuth University and after graduation became a member of Trinity UMC in Murfreesboro, TN.

At Trinity a deacon taught and led music for the church. It was the first experience I had with the diaconal ministry and this was a great deacon. She taught a class on Methodism that made me realize how much of the Methodist position I agreed with, largely through my education at Lambuth.

Too many blogs.

There are too many websites in the world. This article claims there are 150 web addresses for each person on the planet.  I had several blogs of my own. I had a PC blog, a personal blog, and a karate blog. For other people I was maintaining several other blogs. I think I probably have 10 or 12 blogs and/or websites, and as a result I’m updating none of them. That’s not useful.

If I have something to say, this is where I’ll say it. If it’s about Christianity (highly likely) it will be here. Karate, Just Eating, Computers and Technology, pop culture, you name it, it will be here. It’s all of me. Me in 3d, that’s the idea anyway.
